Follow the link below to learn all about the Calgary Art in Nature project.
Calgary Art In Nature was set up in 1999 it's aim was to site pieces of sculpture within the woodland at Calgary that will provoke & enlighten a general awareness of art in nature.
Calgary Farm Wood is not a truly natural wood. We see the great beauty of nature in the rocks, trees, flowers, in the sea, in sunshine and shadows. And yet the trees were planted and tended, people have worked the wood and surrounding land for hundreds of years.
What we see now is a product of both nature and of man's efforts, a working environment, a cultural landscape.
We are still working the wood, though in a new way. It is now used as a source of peace, contemplation and exploration. We wish to share this experience. That is why we are developing the paths, viewing platforms and art works. The Gallery In The Woods is our new Art Gallery above the C.A.I.N visitor centre, it hosts monthly exhibitions through the summer, for advance details see the C.A.I.N web site.We also run ongoing Poetry & Beach Art Competitions, come & see the results, or take part yourselves -open to all, details from our visitor centre or Carthouse Gallery. The Mosaic by the pond just inside the woodland has a wedding License & is an idyllic site for a wedding , the Gallery In the Woods is also licensed for weddings , see Wedding "Tab" for details.
